Some people having
homes built or extended can experience significant problems when their projects
are nearing completion with the standard of work and/or time cost overruns.
It makes clear sense for owners to have someone independent of the Contractor
to be able to assist in this often stressful time.
At BSS we provide
free telephone advice by one of our consumer
advisors. Often an initial problem can be assessed and resolved using
one of our low cost initial consultation services.
We recommend that
owners have at least two full inspections undertaken by BSS during construction
as follows:
Prior to Frame
Payment
Prior to Final
Payment
The report will itemise
all defective work and state what action the builder should take to rectify
the situation.
